These sensory and fine motor materials are helping our wolf pups strengthen important skills while giving them additional tools to support their individual learning needs. From building hand strength and practicing pencil control to exploring sensory tools that help with focus and self-regulation, these resources are making a meaningful difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their excitement was contagious! They were eager to explore, touch, and try everything. It was wonderful to see their curiosity take over as they discovered new ways to learn through hands-on activities. For some students, these materials provide a fun way to practice skills that can sometimes feel challenging. For others, sensory supports offer a way to manage big feelings, refocus their attention, and feel more comfortable and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWe are using these resources to create hands-on learning opportunities that support both fine motor development and emotional regulation. Whether students are using tweezers to pick up small objects, strengthening their fingers with therapy putty, practicing writing with greater control, or using sensory supports to help their bodies feel calm and focused, each activity gives them a chance to build independence and confidence. These may seem like small steps, but they are important building blocks for writing, completing classroom tasks, and participating in everyday learning.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue incorporating these materials into our daily routines, small-group instruction, and independent learning activities. We will keep helping students recognize what their bodies need, practice strategies that work for them, and develop the fine motor skills they need to become more confident learners. Every child learns differently, and having a variety of tools allows us to meet students where they are while encouraging them to keep growing.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our wolf pups! Your support reminds us that learning is about so much more than completing a worksheet. It is about building confidence, discovering strengths, developing independence, and giving every child the tools they need to succeed. Because of you, our classroom is becoming an even more supportive place where every student has the opportunity to regulate, create, and thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1790906009403,"projectUrl":"project/regulate-create-sensory-supports-for/10327288/","projectTitle":"Regulate & Create: Sensory Supports for Fine Motor Mastery","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Disney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9629331_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y149&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749669365030","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9629331"},{"teacherId":9629331,"projectId":10415007,"letterContent":"These new books have brought so much excitement to our classroom and are helping our wolf pups discover just how magical reading can be! 💕 Having fresh, engaging books gives my students more opportunities to build their reading skills, grow their confidence, and develop a love for books. As we read together, we work on building vocabulary, practicing reading fluency, strengthening comprehension, making predictions, and connecting stories to our own lives. Most importantly, these books help my students see that reading can be fun, meaningful, and something to look forward to every day!\r\n\r\nIn our first-grade classroom, reading happens in so many different ways! We enjoy whole-group read-alouds, small-group instruction, independent reading, and opportunities to explore books with classmates. I love watching my students get excited about a story, make connections, ask questions, and share their favorite parts. We are working hard to build reading stamina and help every student find books that spark their curiosity and keep them wanting to read more.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding parts of this project has been seeing students with different reading abilities and interests find books they connect with. For some students, it is the excitement of discovering a funny or adventurous story, while others love exploring colorful illustrations, learning new facts, or finding characters they can relate to. These books give beginning readers opportunities to practice and grow, while also encouraging more confident readers to challenge themselves and explore new genres. Every child deserves to feel successful, included, and excited about learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our classroom and helping us create a place where books open doors, imaginations grow, and every student has the opportunity to see themselves in the stories they read. Your generosity is helping our wolf pups build skills that will last far beyond first grade.
