The method books that you've helped provide shape the everyday curriculum of our band class. We are now able to move away from our older books (which are in serious disarray), and replace them with a more effective curriculum. I don't believe we'll truly understand the impact this curriculum will have on our students' musical literacy for a few years, but I know it will make a positive difference.\r\n\r\nOur students were so excited to see and handle the new books. They are in excellent condition, and for many of them, it was the first time they'd received a brand-new \"textbook\" in any class. Our next steps for this project will include implementing the new curriculum with our 6th and 7th graders, and phasing out the old textbooks with our current 8th graders. I'm so looking forward to future classes being able to use these resources for years to come. As a class we chose to read \"Matilda\" by Roald Dahl first. I would read aloud while students followed along. It is funny that even in 7th grade students cherish being read to out loud. Because of state testing and end of the year projects we took a break. However, now we are wrapping up the book and my students have requested we watch the movie as an end of the year activity. For me, Roald Dahl is such a classical storyteller. I grew up reading his books and watching the movies. It was shocking for me to learn so many of my students hadn't heard of him. It has been so fun to watch them get the same enjoyment and entertainment out of his stories that I did. \r\n\r\nStudents also had the option to read once their schoolwork was completed. It was so amazing to watch my students finish their assignments so that they could read! Without the books in my classroom this wouldn't have been an option. They then learn the yoga or pilates moves and they become the teacher, if they feel comfortable enough. Your donation of fidgets has made a remarkable difference in helping students stay focused and calm, creating an environment where they can learn without distractions. These simple yet impactful tools have allowed my students to engage in a more mindful and productive way, improving both their emotional well-being and concentration.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, your contribution of pencils and diverse books has been invaluable in fostering a love for learning. The pencils ensure that every student has the tools they need to complete their work, while the diverse books have broadened their perspectives and introduced them to characters and stories that reflect a wide range of experiences. Things like pencils, colored pencils, earbuds, etc. The supplies that your donors provided helped me with basic classroom practices. I keep a \"Need Pencils\" area on my board where students can easily check out a pencil and sign their name. This takes away the concern and worry (and class time) for students to get what they need to get started each day. As a science class, we use the colored pencils and markers almost weekly. Students are often asked to make drawings and to color code material that they have learned. Again, a basic classroom function that I no longer have to worry about.\r\n\r\nThe personal whiteboards and the earbuds are supplies that help us take our learning to the next level. We have used the whiteboards for group work and for individual response. The students enjoy responding this way and it increases student engagement. Students are excited to use these. The earbuds are more of a personalized learning tool. Students borrow those when they are working individually or need to watch one of the science videos that go with our curriculum.\r\n\r\nThank you for making science learning more accessible to all of my students.","fullyFundedDate":1726595410172,"projectUrl":"project/rise-to-science-success-with-mrs-a/8573905/","projectTitle":"Rise to Science Success with Mrs. A","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Alexander","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9632286"},{"teacherId":553267,"projectId":8574533,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the donation to my classroom.
