Your hands-on literacy materials have transformed how my students engage with reading and writing. Most notably, these resources have reached my most reluctant readers—students who once groaned at \"literacy time\" now eagerly ask, \"Can we do the literacy centers today?\" One student who previously avoided reading spent 20 minutes voluntarily working through a phonics activity with the new manipulatives, completely unprompted. When I first introduced the materials, the energy was electric; students immediately gravitated toward the colorful, tactile resources, and the hesitation melted away. One student simply said, \"Reading is actually fun now!\"\r\n\r\nWhat excites me most is that our assessment scores have increased significantly. Because I can now differentiate instruction more appropriately using these varied materials, I'm meeting each student where they are—struggling readers have access to multi-sensory supports, while advanced readers tackle more complex tasks with the same engaging tools. Moving forward, I'll use these materials to support our guided reading unit on comprehension strategies, building confidence through hands-on practice while developing deeper skills like inference and main idea.\r\n\r\nThank you for seeing the potential in my students and investing in literacy instruction that works. Your generosity has opened doors for learners who thought reading wasn't for them.\r\n\r\nWith deep gratitude,\r\n\r\nAmy Buford","fullyFundedDate":1759941055314,"projectUrl":"project/interactive-early-literacy/9657503/","projectTitle":"Interactive Early Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Buford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2659699"},{"teacherId":9631956,"projectId":9205994,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donation for fun, interactive games for Spanish class. My students love the variety of games. They are always excited to play them together and practice their Spanish. \r\n\r\nRecently, we used them with 2nd grade when they paired up with their middle school buddies. They had so much fun! The games provided a way to connect & interact with older students. \r\n\r\nStudents earn super, fun days once they fill up a magnetic jar for following ROARS behavior, practicing their Spanish, and when my Spanish speaking students help classmates communicate in Spanish. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for supporting my students' learning in multiple ways!","fullyFundedDate":1743515819104,"projectUrl":"project/contextual-spanish-language-acquisition/9205994/","projectTitle":"Contextual Spanish Language Acquisition Reinforcing Skills with Fun, Interactive Games","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Glessner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9631956"},{"teacherId":2659699,"projectId":8853184,"letterContent":"We are incredibly grateful for your generous contribution toward the addition of a sensory room at our school. Since its opening, the sensory space has become a vital part of our daily routines. Students use it with care and excitement, and it has quickly become a safe and calming place where they can reset, regulate, and return to learning with focus. The room has supported both social and academic growth—students are engaging more positively with peers and demonstrating increased confidence and participation in the classroom.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments was seeing our students' faces light up the first time they entered the room. Several students with sensory needs immediately gravitated toward the weighted items and calming lights, and within minutes, we observed a noticeable shift in their behavior and engagement. The sensory room has empowered our students to advocate for their needs—many now independently ask to take breaks and return to class more self-regulated and ready to learn. Looking ahead, we are incorporating the room into behavior and self-regulation goals and will continue using it as a tool for building independence and resilience. Your support has made a lasting impact, and we thank you for being a meaningful part of our students' growth.","fullyFundedDate":1735672699797,"projectUrl":"project/special-education-structured-seating/8853184/","projectTitle":"Special Education Structured Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Buford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2659699"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_42372","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":483,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":54,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":62,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":32,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":70.3,"schoolId":42372,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Estes Park Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Estes Park Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/estes-park-school-district-r-3/estes-park-elementary-school/42372"}
