These \"Hive Helpers\" have completely transformed our STEM rotations. While many people think of technology as just a screen, these little robots are teaching my students the fundamentals of \"directional language\" and \"sequencing\"—the building blocks of computer science. By using the Bee-Bot mats and cards, students aren't just playing; they are practicing math and literacy skills in a way that feels like a game. They have to think critically to program a specific path, which helps them develop spatial awareness and problem-solving skills that are essential for their development.\r\n\r\nThe level of excitement in the room when it is time for the STEM center is truly infectious. The students are most thrilled by the autonomy the Bee-Bots provide; they love being able to \"tell\" the bot exactly where to go and watching their code come to life in real-time. It has been especially heartwarming to watch a few of my more reserved students blossom with this technology. One student, who often struggles with traditional paper-and-pencil math, has become a \"coding expert\" in our class. Seeing the Bee-Bot reach the correct card gives them an immediate sense of accomplishment and a boost in confidence that carries over into the rest of our school day.
