Your support has made an incredible impact on my students, providing them with essential tools to navigate their emotions, regulate their bodies, and build confidence in and out of the gym. \r\n\r\nThanks to you, I have been able to create a dedicated space in our gym where students can take a moment to reset, either with breathing techniques, coloring, reading, or with a fidget tool. This safe space has quickly become an essential part of our gym, allowing students to develop self-regulation skills and return to activity feeling calm and ready to participate. Additionally, your generosity has allowed me to introduce my students to the exciting world of pickleball, giving them the confidence to play outside of school with friends and family. \r\n\r\nYour donation is more than just materials. It has given my students the opportunity to develop life skills and emotional well-being. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for believing in my students and investing in their life-long success.","fullyFundedDate":1730918811823,"projectUrl":"project/serenity-in-motion-promoting-sel-and-su/8570018/","projectTitle":"Serenity in Motion: Promoting SEL and Success in the Gym","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hartin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9631161_orig.jpg?crop=2120,2120,x0,y508&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723005760932","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9631161"},{"teacherId":9301249,"projectId":8577279,"letterContent":"Your donation has had a wonderful impact for the student in our second grade class. We use the timer and Sherpa chair every day. Student's use the chair for our social/emotional break place, called our \"Owl's Nest.\" Our school mascot is an owl. Everyone feels so cozy in the super soft Sherpa chair and the shape helps students have a specific place to sit up and go through breathing strategies. This helps to get the mind, body and emotions back to a place for optimal learning.\r\n\r\nYou also provided square cushions and weighted lap blankets. This makes it more comfortable for students to work in the room. We have flexible seating with low tables, single desks and carpet space for work stations. The cushions are great for sitting on or leaning against. The weighted blankets work anywhere to add comfort and a bit of weight to help focus students that may need the extra stability to stay on task.\r\n\r\nThe final item was a laminator and laminator pages. This is a very helpful tool to make student work more permanent. That is always appreciated by families.","fullyFundedDate":1727462987145,"projectUrl":"project/let-students-shine/8577279/","projectTitle":"Let Students Shine!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Archambault","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9301249_orig.png?crop=600,600,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1695520176283","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9301249"},{"teacherId":9241290,"projectId":8561364,"letterContent":"The materials that were given to my by the generous donation has changed the way my students are able to interact with a LOT of social emotional tools/ curricula. Part of my job is explaining coping skills and practicing that with students in the hopes of generalization of skills. This can look different for all of my students. On my own, or even with school/ PTA funds, I would never be able to afford tools for all different learners. \r\n\r\nLuckily, books, art supplies, fidgets, Legos, and SEL games were all approved for my classroom. Books help the students who struggle to reflect personally, connect to the characters in the story. Strategies shared in books allow for students to give-it-a-go in your classroom. Art supplies allow students who struggle verbalizing their needs draw or create art work to show how they may be feeling and why. Legos assist with partner games, and cool down activities when a student is having a hard time. Finally, SEL games help me learn what a student knows and practice areas of growth in a different way.
