Since this project was funded, our school pantry and backpack program has become an even more reliable source of support for our students. We are are able to provide weekly support to over 50 families, sending home non-perishable for and hygiene items that students take home on weekends and school breaks. \r\n\r\nMany students have expressed gratitude not just for the food and for knowing someone cared enough to help. The availability of these resources has reduced the amount of external stress and allowed students to come better prepared for school and learning. \r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our backpack program continues to support our school community. Students are learning about empathy, service, and community responsibility, several seventh and eighth graders help organize and prepare pantry and backpacks. We recently organized a mini indoor or futsal soccer tournament where students not only practiced their technical skills but also learned about teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship. The new soccer balls, goals, scoreboard, and training gear have transformed our gym space into a dynamic and engaging environment for physical education classes and after-school activities.\r\n\r\nHow did your students react when they first saw the materials?\r\nThe excitement was incredible! As soon as they walked in and saw the new equipment, their faces lit up with joy. Some students immediately started testing out the soccer balls, while others gathered around to check out the new goals. They couldn't wait to start playing, and their enthusiasm has carried over into every practice session since.\r\n\r\nWhat are the next steps for your students?\r\nWe're now focusing on improving specific soccer skills, such as passing accuracy and defensive techniques, through structured drills. Additionally, we're working on a project where students analyze professional indoor soccer games and apply their observations to their own play. In the coming weeks, we hope to host friendly matches with other schools, giving our students the opportunity to showcase their growth and teamwork.\r\n\r\nThank you to all the donors who made this possible! Your generosity has made a lasting impact on our students, and we're excited to continue learning and growing through this project.","fullyFundedDate":1735426233981,"projectUrl":"project/futsal-club-at-hms/9010429/","projectTitle":"Futsal Club at HMS","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Julian Lopez Buitrago","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9268855_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694479809743","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9268855"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41530","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":775,"numTeachers":55,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":49,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":59.4,"schoolId":41530,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hamilton Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hamilton Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/denver-public-school-district-1/hamilton-middle-school/41530"}
