These are items we have truly needed in the health office but have not had the funding to purchase. Your generosity means the world to me and to the girls who attend school here.\r\n\r\nI've placed the lamp and speaker in the cot room so students can enjoy calming music and softer lighting, creating a cozier and more comforting space. Already, students have been requesting the combs, and they love playing with the magnetic men while waiting for the restroom or while I finish assisting another student. The hair ties and super glue have been useful more times than I can count. The step stool has also made a big difference, allowing me to safely reach items in cabinets that previously required standing on the counter. My students LOVE the flexible seating options that they now have. Pregnant and postpartum students alike are using the birthing balls, stands, and cushions to alleviate the pressure on their lower back and hips. We've done several yoga classes in which the bolsters have supported pregnant students in participating and relaxing throughout the flow. \r\n\r\nI am in the process of revamping my curriculum to allow for weekly mindfulness practice. Self-regulation is a key ingredient in being a strong, compassionate parent. Many of us were not given access to learn about self-regulation tools: breathwork, meditation, yoga, sound, etc. We will be using our classroom time, and our flexible seating tools, to create an environment of self-regulation practice. The therapeutic art supplies have been instrumental during the first trimester of our courses. Students have been using the supplies both for classroom projects and for self-regulation. In my parenting class, we specifically talk about the importance of self-regulation and co-regulation. Both of these regulation types can be supported by art. Coloring, in specific, is not only play for a child, but a tool for emotional processing. Both parents and their children can utilize these materials for their own wellness and in support of their family wellness. They also get to practice different ways that they can play with their children!\r\n\r\nThe students were very excited upon receiving the materials. They have found a lot of joy in using brand new art materials - who doesn't love a fresh bunch of markers!? Even students hesitant to participate in more creative projects have found an access point in using the more \"unusual\" art materials, like the water color pencils or outlining markers. \r\n\r\nBeing able to provide our students with a creative outlet has been wonderful. Given the girls are either pregnant or have a baby/children, they are often exhausted which makes it difficult for them to learn. The blankets get used daily by them when they take naps and they love them. The tape has been useful as have the reusable paper towels. Of course, one of the girls' favorite health office item is the phone charging cable.
