The therapeutic art supplies have been instrumental during the first trimester of our courses. Students have been using the supplies both for classroom projects and for self-regulation. In my parenting class, we specifically talk about the importance of self-regulation and co-regulation. Both of these regulation types can be supported by art. Coloring, in specific, is not only play for a child, but a tool for emotional processing. Both parents and their children can utilize these materials for their own wellness and in support of their family wellness. They also get to practice different ways that they can play with their children!\r\n\r\nThe students were very excited upon receiving the materials. They have found a lot of joy in using brand new art materials - who doesn't love a fresh bunch of markers!? Even students hesitant to participate in more creative projects have found an access point in using the more \"unusual\" art materials, like the water color pencils or outlining markers. \r\n\r\nBeing able to provide our students with a creative outlet has been wonderful. Given the girls are either pregnant or have a baby/children, they are often exhausted which makes it difficult for them to learn. The blankets get used daily by them when they take naps and they love them. The tape has been useful as have the reusable paper towels. Of course, one of the girls' favorite health office item is the phone charging cable. Recently a girl came in needing a change of clothes and I was able to provide them black pants thanks to you! They were so grateful. Morning sickness is also very common and so the ginger tea has already come in handy. Thank you, thank you. The gloves have been nice so I'm not squeezing my hands into smalls which are way too small. The ice maker has been a big hit, next to the black pants. I've been able to make quick ice packs but also girls come to my office just to get ice for their drinks which is a nice treat for them. The pregnant girls here often prefer iced water over room temperature so it's been quite the luxury, thank you. Your generosity has helped stock the health office with much needed supplies.
