Your support has made an incredible difference, and I wanted to share the impact of your donation on our learning journey.\r\n\r\nWith the books you helped provide, my students are developing a range of valuable skills. By examining fantasy through the lens of culture, they are learning to appreciate diverse worldviews and the rich traditions embedded in stories. They are also honing their critical thinking abilities as they practice comparing fact to fiction, questioning what is real and what is imagined in the narratives. In addition, these books open doors to new perspectives, encouraging students to see the world through the eyes of characters in different settings, which broadens their understanding and empathy.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is a cherished part of our routine. Every Monday through Thursday, we spend about 20 minutes reading together, followed by small group discussions. These discussions allow students to engage with the text on a deeper level, sharing their insights and reflecting on what they have read. On Fridays, we transition into writing extended reflections, where students make connections between the fictional worlds in the books and real-world elements they can relate to—such as cultural practices, social issues, or personal experiences. This allows them to engage with the material in a meaningful way and understand how literature can mirror and challenge the world around them.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have shown an especially strong connection to the new books. After finishing the first book in the series, some have been so captivated by the story and characters that they've gone on to check out from the library or purchase additional books in the series. This is a clear sign that the books have sparked a love for reading and a desire to continue exploring these imaginative worlds.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for your generous donation.
