With the very limited budget I had, this project allowed me to stock the School Nurse Offices at both the elementary school and the high school / junior high school with snacks and juice for our T1D students. We were also able to refill our classroom diabetic kits for teachers to quickly give a diabetic student a juice and peanut butter cracker packet to improve a low blood glucose level in the classroom. \r\n\r\nHaving the snacks available to our diabetic students is recommended by their pediatric endocrinologists as part of the Colorado Standards of Care for diabetic students.
