We have sectioned the books into thematic units tied to our state standards and units of learning to allow students rich extended resources for individual and class exploration. \r\nMany students have independently read the books and we have read 6 of the books so far as a whole class. We have had rich discussions about many diverse groups including Native Americans on Indigenous People's Day and we plan to use several of the books during Black History Month. \r\nOur class so appreciates the resources you have provided for us. Thank you for your generosity. The students have benefited from the fidget tools in class. The calming strips, fidget toys, and chair adaptations have really helped my students during instruction. It allows them to maintain some physical activity when they need to focus. \r\n\r\n The playground equipment, fidget tools, and math games gave my students the opportunity to improve their learning and increase movement at recess. A few of the students have sensory needs and providing tactile stimulation has helped them in and outside of the classroom instruction time. All the students benefited from the physical activity during recess time and supplied my classroom with that previously had no playground equipment. \r\n\r\n I aim to provide a well-rounded learning environment where students can thrive both physically and academically. My students at Washington have been utilizing most of the materials during choice time in art and get so excited each and every time. The kinetic sand has been a great sensory tool, the beading kit has also been not only fun for them to design with but also a great way to develop their fine motor skills. \r\nThey lit up with joy when they first saw all the new art materials and were eager to explore their creativity with them.
