These devices have already begun to make a meaningful difference for my students. While many people are familiar with tablets at home, their use in the classroom has opened new doors for learning—students are using them to access interactive reading tools, research for projects, and strengthen their writing through real-time feedback.\r\n\r\nThe excitement has been contagious—students love the chance to take turns using the tablets, especially during collaborative activities. One student who has been shy about participating in class has really warmed up by using educational apps on the tablet; it has given her a more comfortable way to practice skills and then share her progress with her peers.\r\n\r\nYour gift has made our classroom more engaging, interactive, and student-centered. Students learned how to score glass, creating a design that covered 66 square feet, how to use thin set mortar, and how to grout. Although we set out to complete a beautification project, they gained real world experience as well. \r\n\r\nIn addition to learning how to set a glass mosaic, students had to work together. They created two teams—one team for each side of the bench. They had to work together on their small teams in order to set the glass before the mortar dried while following their design, and work as a whole to make sure that their design met at the corner. The communication skills that they had to use with one another will, also, translate into real world scenarios that they will face in the future. \r\n\r\nOverall this project was a success. The students had a great sense of pride as they made the front of our school look better, and they loved leaving a lasting piece of themselves. In the future, we hope to take on more projects that will benefit the school and our students' experiences. These 14 students come into my classroom to rehearse and choreograph twice daily, and I offer them snacks to help them remain motivated and feel cared for. \r\nThe simple act of staying after school for them, and then rewarding them with cookies or a cup of noodles makes them understand how important they are, and how much we value their joy and spirit.\r\nI know that this contribution may seem trivial, but for the students of Hinkley, it was deeply appreciated. These students will be competing next week at the Colorado HOSA State Leadership Conference, and thanks to you, they are well prepared.\r\nWe have also truly enjoyed the table stands and pencil sharpeners. The table stands have helped us to create stations. Thanks to your support, the \"Attendance Matters: Encouraging Success through Positive Reinforcement\" initiative made a lasting impact on our school community, transforming student attitudes toward attendance and engagement.\r\nBecause of you, students who once struggled with chronic absenteeism found new motivation to attend school consistently. Awareness of the incentives gave them small but meaningful goals to work toward, while the quarterly celebrations kept the excitement going. As attendance improved, so did their academic performance, confidence, and enthusiasm for learning.\r\nOne of the most rewarding moments of this journey was our award celebration, where we recognized the students who had made the most significant attendance improvements. Watching their faces light up as they received awards and the grand prize of a computer and headphones was truly inspiring. These students overcame obstacles, developed responsibility, and proved to themselves that their efforts were worth it.\r\nYour support didn't just help students show up, it helped them believe in themselves. You made school a place where their progress was seen, valued, and celebrated. You played a role in shaping habits that will benefit them far beyond this school year, setting them up for success in their future academic and professional journeys.\r\nOn behalf of my students, our school, and myself, thank you for investing in their potential. Using the snacks to encourage after class help time attendance has had a positive impact. Word has gotten out that there are snacks to be had during office hours for students who need the help.
