Your donations allowed the students I serve to get treats in individual therapy sessions and in group wellness sessions- which allowed them to better focus in session and in their school day. The treats/snacks are something students look forward to during session and in the last leadership group session the students really enjoyed them- during that session students developed thier 'leadership shield' in which they explored thier strenghts, ways they support others, ways others support them, the type of leader they want to be and things they have overcame- one student did share the fact that they overcame suicidal ideation! The cleaning supplies you provided allowed students to learn about healthy hygine skills and allowed students and staff to have an increased safety and wellbeing in the school via minimizing illnesses. Thank you for providing the art therapy supplies- all the kids loved the googly eyes- one student made a paper bracelet with different sizes googly eyes! The different sizes pompoms were also a hit- some students made little pompom friends with googly eyes! The students also loved the smile making kits and of course asked to make more than one- and practiced respecting appropriate boundary setting when they were told 'no thank you' due to learning about sharing skills. Due to going on maternity leave (mid April)- I still have not used the clay and glitter with the students as that takes a bit more hands on supporting especailly with the younger students and older students with special needs. I will be using those and the remaining art therapy supplies with students next academic year.
