They have been invaluable to our classroom. We used them for a project where they showcased what they love in their lives. The first step was to create a poster and the second step was to write an essay. \r\n\r\nThe project included some of their favorite things--food, places, sports teams, singers, and movies. We also included our favorite people as well as their favorite things about themselves. Finally, we talked about our future dreams and goals. \r\n\r\nWe are super grateful for your donation! These donations brought high quality, culturally relevant titles to our library and into the hands of my students. The students at ACHS have not had a functioning library the entire time that they have been here. With the project being funded, these students are finally able to see themselves within the text, connecting with characters, places and events that occur across these titles.\r\nIn addition to adding titles to the library circulation collection I was also able to start a student led book club, utilizing some titles purchased from the donations. The book club is gaining momentum and has 7 students. These students meet every Wednesday to discuss and review the titles and promote literacy initiatives throughout the building. They do this by creating book review posters to display across the school as well testimonials on why you should join the ACHS book club, Lit Happens, Where nobody is left unread!","fullyFundedDate":1764689569996,"projectUrl":"project/bring-culturally-responsive-literature-a/9511520/","projectTitle":"Bring Culturally Responsive Literature and Library Access","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tasha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9230850_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755709270058","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9230850"},{"teacherId":9887715,"projectId":9930495,"letterContent":"This project has made a powerful difference for my students at Adams City High School. Many of my Algebra 2 students are migrant and low-income learners who do not always have access to advanced technology outside of school. Bringing 3D printing into our classroom has turned abstract math concepts into something they can see, touch, and build. Instead of only graphing functions on paper, students now design and print models that represent parabolas, solids of revolution, and function transformations. This hands-on approach has improved understanding, increased participation, and helped students make stronger connections between algebra and the real world.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about this technology is seeing their ideas become real objects. When they design a model from an equation and watch it print layer by layer, their engagement and pride are incredible. Math feels less intimidating and more creative. Students collaborate more, ask deeper questions, and often redesign their models to improve accuracy — which naturally builds problem-solving and critical thinking skills.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who previously struggled with confidence in math have especially connected with this technology. Visual and hands-on learners, in particular, have shown major growth because they can now interact with mathematical concepts physically, not just symbolically. I have seen students who were once hesitant become leaders in design and modeling activities. Your support has not only provided equipment — it has opened new pathways for curiosity, confidence, and innovation in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1764732876165,"projectUrl":"project/printing-the-future-of-algebra-2/9930495/","projectTitle":"Printing the Future of Algebra 2","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Burgos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9887715"},{"teacherId":9311347,"projectId":9550829,"letterContent":"The students have truly embraced the books that were generously donated. Currently, they have already read two of these wonderful additions. This support has been invaluable, significantly enhancing their reading skills and helping them learn how to engage with stories through WH questions (Who, What, Where, When, Why, How). Additionally, we often pause to encourage predictions about what will happen next in the narratives.\r\n\r\nThe impact of these resources stretches far beyond simple enjoyment; they are instrumental in achieving critical educational objectives. As students engage with these texts, they are making remarkable strides in their overall reading proficiency. The diverse content offers excellent opportunities to practice and improve reading comprehension, enabling students to connect more effectively with the stories. Moreover, the narratives serve as a perfect vehicle for teaching critical thinking and inference. Overall, the availability of these new books is significantly boosting our students' literary abilities and their confidence in tackling new reading challenges.","fullyFundedDate":1764963456978,"projectUrl":"project/ssn-reading/9550829/","projectTitle":"SSN Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vazquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9311347"},{"teacherId":5359228,"projectId":9149005,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous donations, my classroom has become a more supportive, comfortable, and well-managed learning space for every student. The Gaiam classic balance ball chair has been a wonderful addition, giving me a flexible seating option that keeps me active and comfortable throughout the day. My students also enjoy using it occasionally during group activities — it helps them stay focused and engaged. The magnetic whiteboard erasers, Scotch tape dispenser, and staples have made daily routines so much smoother, allowing us to stay organized and efficient during lessons and projects.\r\n\r\nOne of the most impactful parts of this project has been the addition of the 36 wall pockets for phones and the menstrual kits. The wall pockets help promote a distraction-free environment by giving students a safe and consistent place to store their phones when class begins. This simple routine has significantly improved attention and participation. The menstrual kits, meanwhile, have provided essential support and dignity for my female students. Having these resources readily available ensures that students never have to choose between their comfort and their education — and that message of care and inclusion means a lot in our classroom community.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a classroom that balances structure, compassion, and engagement. From the practical tools that keep us organized to the thoughtful items that ensure every student feels supported, each donation has made a meaningful difference in how we learn and grow together. The new ergonomic desk chair and L-shaped computer desk have completely transformed my workspace, allowing me to stay organized and comfortable during long days of teaching, grading, and planning. Having a dependable and supportive setup means I can give more of my energy and focus to my students rather than worrying about discomfort or clutter.\r\n\r\nMy students are also benefiting directly from your kindness every single day. They use the two-pocket plastic folders to keep track of their handouts and assignments, which has noticeably improved their organization and responsibility. The Expo Dry Erase Markers and BIC Cristal pens have become classroom staples — the markers help students demonstrate their learning during whiteboard activities, and the pens make their written work look crisp and professional. I also use the Paper Mate Flair felt pens to grade and give colorful, encouraging feedback that helps students feel seen and motivated.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped create a classroom environment that's both efficient and inspiring.
