Ukuleles are a fantastic resource for students to learn how to play stringed instruments. They are more affordable than guitars, violins, or any other stringed instrument. Being small, they are very accessible to small size of children. Playing the ukulele teaches the students fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, and listening to multiple notes at the same time. Resources are very limited in a small school district and I do not have a classroom set of any major instrument. The 14 ukuleles that I would like to purchase would be a classroom set for some of the smaller classes but not the larger ones. 14 is a good number to start off with until I am able to secure the funding for more. They are a very fun instrument to play and students are always very excided to learn the ukulele. This will be a great resource to have in our music classroom for may years to come!
