It's been a fun way to give them a chance to try new things and use their imagination.\r\n\r\nWhen we first got the materials, the students were excited and curious. They loved trying and seeing what everything could do.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I'm planning to use the magnetic items during our science unit in the spring when we learn about pushes and pulls, and force and motion. I think they will be a great way for the kids to see those concepts in action.","fullyFundedDate":1757611120824,"projectUrl":"project/read-explore-create-igniting-a-love-o/9642087/","projectTitle":"Read, Explore, Create: Igniting a Love of Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Boettcher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9219647_orig.jpg?crop=272,272,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1695573414726","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9219647"},{"teacherId":6846863,"projectId":8574088,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and providing us the supplies we asked for. For example, thanks to you many students got closer to their goal on our district wide test because they were able to listen to the math portion thanks to the headphones you all provided!\r\n\r\nAlong with that, we are seeing great growth in our reading skills thanks to the sight word game that was provided. Students are loving that game and are very engaged. They are also growing their confidence here. Students are also showing their confidence by choosing the easy readers that were provided through Donors Choose and they are feeling like readers!\r\n\r\nWe appreciate the impact you have made on our class so much! Every day, students are using their new whiteboards, markers, erasers, and clipboards to complete tasks in math and literacy. The mailbox organizer that we received has been used to organize their small group reading assignments and activities and has been a great system to help keep everything organized and easily accessible. My students' favorite thing that we received is the standing desk, which one student gets to use each day. They absolutely love being able to work away from their desk and it has become incentive for students! Students have also loved the new read aloud we received, and have really enjoyed using the place value manipulatives to help with rounding and estimation.\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you again for everything, my students and I are so grateful!","fullyFundedDate":1727462814158,"projectUrl":"project/creating-an-organized-and-comfortable-cl/8570703/","projectTitle":"Creating an Organized and Comfortable Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sweeney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9631404"},{"teacherId":8499217,"projectId":8563580,"letterContent":"These items have helped my student be more engaged in their learning and have been able to stay more on top of their learning. I teach Kindergarten through 5th grade students who have disabilities and are receiving additional services through an Individual Education Plan. These students are pulled into small groups to receive additional support in Reading/Writing and Math. The materials I received through Donors Choose has made a huge difference in these students wanting to learn. The materials I received are learning activities but in the form of games or writing materials that are fun for them to use. The students were so excited to have new materials and a different way to learn. The students were more excited to learn and try to read when it was presented in a game format rather than a boring worksheet. In one game called \"Stack and Build\" the students have to use letter tiles to build a word that matches the picture, then they turn the picture page and need to change 1 letter tile to build the new word to match the picture. This is also building their vocabulary and knowledge of pictures. Some students struggled with figuring out what the picture was but when looking at the letter tiles and changing one letter they were able to figure out the new word. I also work with multilingual learners so these games are awesome for them to learn new vocabulary. The students are so appreciative as well.","fullyFundedDate":1727462853003,"projectUrl":"project/school-materials/8563108/","projectTitle":"School Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mills","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9233260"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41251","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":402,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":27,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":63,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":42.2,"schoolId":41251,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Westview Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Westview Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/adams-12-five-star-schools/westview-elementary-school/41251"}
