I have already seen the impact that these supplies can have with my class. We currently have one balance board that we are borrowing, and my students are able to take turns using it for five minutes at a time. They are able to focus on what is happening in class while moving and getting some of their fidgets out. These sensory tools empower students to self advocate if they need to get some of their energy out while not losing any time learning. This also reduces incidents where students get their energy out in ways that distracts them from learning. I am trying to get two balance boards for my students. This allows students to stand on it while still focusing in class. I am also requesting two pedal exercisers and two think and roll foot rests. This can be used for students who need them at their desk and for times when students are working with others and cannot be standing in the back of the classroom.
