We had about 12 students finish at least two projects each. Some kids were able to complete three or more projects, which I was not able to offer as an option last year due to not having enough materials. Every student was able to complete a small pillow, which helped them learn basic stitches, sewing on buttons, and sewing on small felt details. This gave them confidence and independence when moving on to their custom-made plushies. \r\n\r\nThe students were so excited to see all the choices they had of colors and shapes of felt and buttons. Cutting the small detail shapes out of felt is very difficult, so having pre-cut shapes helped their visions come to life and their final products look more neat and refined. \r\n\r\nThe students in the club love sewing so much, I am hoping to do a sewing project for a whole grade level next year. This will help more students learn the skills and joy of sewing, which is an extremely practical art form that also promotes calm mindfulness and focus. I have had multiple students return and tell me about things they have sewn at home, and times they have used what I taught them about tying knots. Thank you so much for helping make my vision of sewing club a reality.","fullyFundedDate":1723140354981,"projectUrl":"project/sew-much-fun-club-crafting-bright-futur/8563851/","projectTitle":"Sew Much Fun Club: Crafting Bright Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Peterson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9629717_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722982662218","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9629717"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_67375","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":465,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":34,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":38,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":76.5,"schoolId":67375,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Arapahoe Ridge Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Arapahoe Ridge Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/adams-12-five-star-schools/arapahoe-ridge-elementary-school/67375"}
