Kindergartners are little balls of energy. They need to move, and learn best when they can do so. I have decided to include flexible seating in my classroom to allow my students to choose how and where they learn best. Research has shown that providing flexible seating will not only keep the students engaged and increase their attention span, but it will also help to burn calories and improve posture. I would like to incorporate stability cushions, floor pillows and wobble chairs into my classroom in order to allow this to happen. My teammate has started flexible seating in her classroom and the kids are loving it. They are excited, engaged, and more productive than ever. Your generous donation will improve and increase my student's attention and focus, and allow my students to achieve their highest potential. By introducing floor pillows to my room, I will allow the students to have a comfortable place to work and read. I’m hoping the stability discs will help my students who might have sensory issues receive the sensory feedback they need to help them stay on task. If a child is comfortable in their learning space, they are going to be more engaged, which will allow them to learn and retain more. My hope is that, by allowing my students choice about their learning space, they will have an incredible year of reaching their goals.
