Because of your kindness, our students have wonderful new books that are helping them build early reading skills while developing a love of books and stories. Your gift is making a meaningful difference in the way our young learners experience reading every day.\r\n\r\nWhen the books arrived, the excitement was contagious! My kindergarteners couldn't wait to explore the colorful covers, flip through the pages, and share which books they wanted to read first. Their smiles, excitement, and curiosity reminded me how powerful it is to put engaging books into the hands of young children.\r\n\r\nWe are using these books during our daily independent reading time, partner reading, and class read-alouds. As we read together, students practice important kindergarten skills like identifying letters and sounds, learning new vocabulary, making predictions, retelling stories, and recognizing characters and settings. During independent reading, students are building confidence by choosing books that interest them, practicing picture walks, and using the reading strategies they are learning in class. It has been so rewarding to watch students excitedly reach for books and proudly share what they notice in the stories.\r\n\r\nThese new books will continue to support our literacy lessons throughout the year. Students will use them to practice foundational reading skills, participate in interactive read-aloud discussions, complete simple response activities, and strengthen their comprehension and oral language skills. Most importantly, these books are helping our kindergarteners see themselves as readers and creating positive reading habits that will support them for years to come.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping us create a classroom filled with joyful reading experiences. Your generosity is giving our young learners the opportunity to build strong reading foundations while discovering the excitement and confidence that comes from falling in love with books. These books have allowed us to create themed, hands-on lesson plans that truly bring language and literacy to life.\r\n\r\nIn our speech and language sessions, reading is highly interactive and individualized. We use these books to target a wide range of communication skills, including articulation, vocabulary development, comprehension, and verbal expression. Students are not just listening to stories - they are participating, making requests, answering questions, labeling, describing, and connecting ideas.\r\n\r\nIt has been incredibly special to see students light up when they recognize a favorite book or independently use new words and sounds during activities. For my students who need extra support—whether with fine motor skills, language, or attention. There's more independence, less frustration, and a lot more joy. Students are excited to use the materials, and something as simple as having the right tools ready to go has made our days run more smoothly. Many of our young learners are still developing early reading, listening, and fine motor skills, and technology helps make these skills more accessible and engaging. Using computers allows students to practice letters, sounds, and numbers through interactive games, while also learning important skills like taking turns, following directions, and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nThe new headphones, computer mice, and the small speaker with microphone have been especially exciting for our students. The headphones help children focus and hear instructions clearly without distractions. The computer mice give students better control as they click, drag, and explore learning programs, helping strengthen their hand-eye coordination. The speaker with microphone has been a big hit! It allows us to play songs, read stories aloud, and let students hear themselves when they share, which builds confidence and excitement.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially warmed to this new technology. Some of our quieter or shy students feel more comfortable participating when they can listen through headphones or speak into the microphone.
