Each manipulative we have received allows my first grade students to work on reading and math skills more independently as well as incorporating hands on learning. Specifically, when we are working on a math story, students can clearly see the parts of the number sentence while placing counters in the ten frame on the board.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, particularly the voice recording buttons, they squealed with excitement! They love using them during small group center time to listen to words and write what they hear.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students is to get more read aloud books so that they can listen to stories while they follow along!
