Their faces lit up as we unpacked the snacks, markers, crayons, fidget toys, Expo markers, and sensory-friendly toys. Many of my students struggle with emotional regulation and attention, so seeing materials chosen specifically for their needs made them feel supported, valued, and understood. Several students eagerly asked when they could start using the new items, and the sense of joy and ownership in our classroom was truly heartwarming.\r\n\r\nSince receiving this donation, our classroom has been running more smoothly and with fewer disruptions. The snacks have been especially helpful for students who struggle with hunger or sensory needs, allowing them to focus longer and participate more fully in learning. The fidget toys and sensory-friendly materials have provided appropriate outlets for movement and self-regulation, helping students calm their bodies and emotions without leaving the learning environment. As a result, transitions are easier, and students are better able to stay engaged throughout the day.\r\n\r\nWe are using the markers, crayons, and Expo markers daily for academic instruction, small-group work, and creative expression. These materials allow students to practice skills in hands-on, engaging ways while building independence and confidence. Overall, this donation has had a meaningful impact on both the emotional climate and academic success of our classroom. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity that made this possible and for the positive difference it continues to make for my students every single day. 💛","fullyFundedDate":1758855509802,"projectUrl":"project/my-1st-and-2nd-sdc-classroom/9492265/","projectTitle":"My 1st and 2nd SDC Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Newman-Efimoff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10044647"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_40363","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":580,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":75,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":29,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":44,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":9,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"18.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":61.9,"schoolId":40363,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lincrest Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lincrest Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/yuba-city-unified-school-district/lincrest-elementary-school/40363"}
