I, along with my first graders, appreciate it so much. We use a phonics program called UFLI. With this program comes a lot of instruction where the children must write the sounds they hear, form them into words and them read them out loud. They also work on penmanship and correct letter formation. Having whiteboards helps tremendously with that. Plus, all of the children love to have their own. It gives them a sense of responsibility and pride. Taking care of materials is a great skill to learn. We also use the whiteboards for our daily writing and even with math. So basically, we use them all the time! \r\n\r\nHaving new whiteboards was a wonderful treat this year because the whiteboards we had were used so much, the lines were disappearing and there were scuff marks we couldn't erase. And if you know elementary school kiddos, you'll know that we go through dry erase pens very quickly. So having enough to last us throughout the entire year is very helpful!\r\n\r\nThank you again for everything. These are providing cooperative play opportunities that never existed before. Our students typically prefer to play by themselves and we not see them playing in groups! Next, we plan to use them for a challenge where students design shelters that can withstand the \"earthquake test\" (a shake of the table!).
