Since the tablets arrived, our classroom dynamic has shifted in the most incredible way. While many people use tablets for entertainment at home, in our school, they have become essential tools for personalized literacy. These devices allow my students to access digital libraries and interactive phonics programs that meet them exactly where they are—whether they are mastering the alphabet or diving into complex chapter books. This level of differentiation would be nearly impossible without the technology you provided.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for the students has been the element of choice and the interactive nature of the apps. They are no longer just \"reading a book\"; they are engaging with stories that come to life, recording themselves reading to practice fluency, and receiving instant feedback on their progress. It has turned a subject that some found intimidating into the highlight of our school day.\r\n\r\nI've been particularly moved by a few of my more reluctant readers who used to struggle with confidence. Having a private, tech-forward way to practice their skills has given them a \"safe space\" to make mistakes and grow. One student in particular, who used to shy away from group reading, now rushes to get their tablet, eager to show me the new level they've reached. Your gift didn't just provide hardware; it provided a spark of confidence that will stay with these children long after they leave my classroom.\r\n\r\nWith gratitude,\r\n\r\nMs. Panyasith","fullyFundedDate":1770945492093,"projectUrl":"project/tablets-for-reading/9835342/","projectTitle":"Tablets for Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Panyasith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3633511_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1509559589630","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-bushfirstgrade"},{"teacherId":9195572,"projectId":9792528,"letterContent":"I would like to extend my heartful thank you for your generous donation of STEK building toys for my classroom.\r\nIt is truly inspiring to see community members like you invest in the future of our students.\r\nThese Stem toys are already making a significant impact in our classroom. Children are able to hear books being read in both Spa ish and English.\r\nThe biggest impact has come from the new dramatic play items such as specialty foods like pizza shop and bakery and the dress up clothes. These are providing cooperative play opportunities that never existed before. Our students typically prefer to play by themselves and we not see them playing in groups! Towers that tipped over became lessons in balance, and bridges that collapsed sparked conversations about stability and design.\r\n\r\nThese resources are helping us bring engineering and design thinking into our everyday lessons. Next, we plan to use them for a challenge where students design shelters that can withstand the \"earthquake test\" (a shake of the table!).
