They have had fun scanning their books to check them out. All the books are now organized in bins by color. They are also labeled to display the reading level and category. They enjoy using the library so much that it has made them read more often. The library is much easier to navigate and use. Thank you so much for donating to our fourth graders. Palacio. \r\n\r\nOver the course of several weeks, we deeply explored Wonder, analyzing its themes, characters, and lessons through engaging discussions and activities. This novel allowed me to teach multiple grade-level standards in reading comprehension, literary analysis, and writing. The students remained engaged throughout, eagerly participating in each lesson and sharing thoughtful insights about empathy, kindness, and perspective.\r\n\r\nTo wrap up our study, we watched the movie adaptation and are now finishing up an informative essay comparing and contrasting the book to the film. This culminating project has been a fantastic way for my students to apply their critical thinking and writing skills.\r\n\r\nBeyond the classroom experience, the impact of this novel study was reflected in my students' academic growth. After completing Wonder, my class took their NWEA reading assessment—and their scores increased by an average of over 7%! This is a huge achievement, and I truly believe that the engagement and depth of our novel study played a major role in their success.\r\n\r\nYour gift has not only enriched this year's learning but will continue to benefit students for years to come. I have included pictures of our novel study activities, as well as heartfelt thank-you cards from my students, who are so grateful for this opportunity.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity. You made a lasting impact on my students, and we are so appreciative!","fullyFundedDate":1735625372586,"projectUrl":"project/5th-grade-class-book-set/8892585/","projectTitle":"5th Grade Class Book Set","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sabrina Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9581105_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720113111090","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9581105"},{"teacherId":9613906,"projectId":8528679,"letterContent":"The Lemonade War is a perfect book for teaching entrepreneurship and economics while also supporting reading comprehension.
