We could not have explored the mediums donated without you! We have one student who would not have explored art materials had he not fallen in love with the Giant Washable Color Ink Pads. We use the Balance Beam almost every day at the end of the day. (Our students have added cushions and recently made a \"lake\" creation out of it). The Float & Find Number Bubbles have been a hit. A few students actively seek them out on a regular basis. Last, and certainly not least is the biggest hit of all: the Playful Penguins Ice Blocks. We added some little cups and tongue depressors and simply laid these on the table. From there, the students have created bridges, towers, slides and much more. We cannot thank you enough for these gifts.","fullyFundedDate":1764600081278,"projectUrl":"project/for-the-love-of-art-help-our-new-tk-cl/9751197/","projectTitle":"For the Love of Art: Help Our New TK Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Soltero","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9893399"},{"teacherId":9893399,"projectId":9751399,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations! Our kids were so excited to open their \"presents\". They immediately asked if they could play with \"everything\". Many of our students have never been exposed to these outdoor materials, aside from cones or balls. Exploring the EDX Education Stepping Buckets has allowed them to become more confident in their balance and allowed them to work as a team as they invent new \"games\" while using them. During recess, our students are excited to use the Voit Soft Low-Bounce Tuff Balls. They have used them practing their catching skills while hopping from one TuXHui Spot Marker to another (often vying for a particular color before they start their game). During rainy days, or on low ratio days, our students have enjoyed playing with the Liberry Toy Bowling Set indoors. It is nice to see them problem-solving how and where to place them so that the pins are easier to set up and the ball doesn't roll off into the classroom. We have used the Martin Sports Gross Motor Hoops for math and literacy. I created a literacy game with tennis balls (each ball has a letter, based off of the Scrabble game). Students will run to a hula hoop where every ball has been placed, grab a ball, and run back to \"their\" hoop, placing the ball in their hoop. Once they have enough balls, they take a look at the letters, work on identifying them, and aempt to spell a word. They love it. Lastly, and certainly not least, the students love the Bekith 120 Pack Indoor Outdoor Agility Mini Sports Cones! They use them to make roads, to make obstacle courses, bug houses, and to wear as hats should they see fit! All of the materials have been enjoyed but one in particular has been a huge asset. This is the BEAU JARDIN Folding Push & Pull Beach Wagon. We use this every single day.. whether that is bringing snack to the yard from the cafeteria, or hauling all of our things across campus when it is time to go home. Thank you so much! From the bottom of our hearts!","fullyFundedDate":1769023678925,"projectUrl":"project/let-them-play/9751399/","projectTitle":"Let Them Play!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Soltero","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9893399"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4232","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":447,"numTeachers":17,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":12,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":67,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"26.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":74.3,"schoolId":4232,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Michelle Obama Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Michelle Obama Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/west-contra-costa-unified-school-district/wilson-elementary-school/4232"}
