They have already learned how to play frisbee golf and hockey—two activities that have strengthened their teamwork, coordination, and strategic thinking. In addition, we have incorporated structured obstacle courses that promote flexibility, balance, and overall coordination, all of which help prepare them for the California State Physical Fitness Test. It has been wonderful to see students challenge themselves physically while also encouraging one another.\r\n\r\nWhen the weather warms up, we will introduce volleyball, which will further develop their communication skills, agility, and cooperative play. The equipment you helped provide ensures that every student has the opportunity to participate fully and safely.\r\n\r\nThe yoga mats have also made a meaningful difference in our indoor PE program. On rainy days, we are now able to shift our focus to mindfulness, stretching, and guided breathing exercises. These practices help students regulate their emotions, reduce stress, and return to the classroom feeling calm and ready to learn. The students truly appreciate this quiet, reflective time, and I have already noticed positive impacts on their focus and self-awareness.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has directly enriched my students' physical, social, and emotional growth. My class looks forward to PE every day and we were running out of ideas and not always coming to a consensus about what to play. Most of the class enjoys playing kickball, but other kids need a break sometimes and we didn't have many good alternatives. I can't really blame them for getting bored. \r\n\r\nThe donation of supplies has allowed us to try new games like Super kickball and Mafia ball. We have found that we need to tweak them from the online videos we watch, but it's been a fun process to figure out what doesn't work and how we can modify the rules to make the game work for our particular school. It's actually kind of cool to listen to kids trouble-shoot and make the game work for our supplies and our playground.\r\n\r\nIn addition, we have a PE Committee whose job it is to find us new games to play and it's helpful to have more supplies because it broadens the options they can choose from. Reading and work time have been so enjoyable as the kids get to choose a comfortable seating option to do their work in. Our wobble seats are a huge hit and students often fuss about who gets to use the chairs! We even had to create a seating list so everyone gets a turn to enjoy the new comfortable seating options. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first opened the boxes and saw what were inside of them, the gasped with excitement and squealed like it was Christmas time. They were so eager to put our chairs together and even more eager to use them. \r\n\r\nWith our classroom transformation, students actually look forward to working and collaborating with their classmates. They get to sit in the bean bag seats and work on projects together, read together and during inside recess time they get the opportunity to sit in our comfy chairs and enjoy time with their friends.
