Normally, my students read books and novels for their own reading level, but because my class loves to read so much, we work on a novel study together about every 2 months. This is normally a 5th-6th grade book that we can all enjoy and work on as a classroom community. It allows for good discussion and collaboration. "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" is a story that I think will engage my class as a whole and foster their love of reading and interest in non-fiction novels. "TIME for Kids" will be a beneficial independent reading source for students to continue to enjoy non-fiction information, news and articles.
