They have been incredibly beneficial in creating a more structured, organized, and supportive learning environment for my students. The cabinets allow us to store materials neatly, keeping them out of sight and safely out of reach for my autistic students, which greatly reduces distractions and helps maintain a calm and focused space.\r\nThe added ability to lock the cabinets provides an important layer of safety and security, giving peace of mind that items remain secure and accessible only when needed. This has allowed us to better manage classroom routines, keep instructional materials in order, and create an environment that supports both independence and growth.\r\nYour generosity has truly made a meaningful impact on our daily classroom experience. By helping us establish a safe and organized space, you are directly supporting my students' ability to thrive, learn, and succeed. This violin has brought so much joy to our orchestra class. The students expressed feeling not only grateful, but also encouraged and motivated as musicians because of your generosity. While only one student currently plays this violin, every student in the group was touched to receive this gift, and was excited about the new instrument being added to our ranks. It was especially meaningful because with the addition of this violin, every member of our group is now able to play on an instrument that is the right size for them!\r\n\r\nThe student who has been using the new violin was overjoyed and so grateful. Her musicianship has improved over the past few months because she's practicing more, and because her new instrument allows her to get a much better sound. She was also grateful because before we received this new violin, we didn't have enough full-size violins to go around, and she was playing on a slightly-too-small instrument. Since getting the new violin, she has been engaging in the ensemble even more and has even stepped into a leadership role!\r\n\r\nEvery year, our orchestra program grows, and more students require school instruments. This new violin ensures that next year's class has a larger instrument inventory to work with, meaning fewer students (or maybe even none) will need to be turned away from learning the violin due to lack of inventory. This violin will continue to have this same positive impact on musicians and orchestra classes here at Soskin for years and decades to come!\r\n\r\nThank you again so much for your generosity. Being able to give these students new equipment is a truly joyous experience for everyone involved, and it would not have happened without you!","fullyFundedDate":1733271524584,"projectUrl":"project/new-violin-to-revitalize-orchestra-inven/8633147/","projectTitle":"New Violin to Revitalize Orchestra Inventory","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Helmberger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9054533_orig.jpg?crop=600,600,x0,y70&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723056975071","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/soskin-music"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4238","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":378,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":73,"percentAsian":17,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":47,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"18.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":60.1,"schoolId":4238,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Betty Reid Soskin Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Betty Reid Soskin Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/west-contra-costa-unified-school-district/crespi-middle-school/4238"}
