Before these arrived, my students were constantly hauling heavy chairs from one area to another, which often disrupted the flow of our lessons. The students were beyond excited to have dedicated spots that felt like they truly belonged in our learning space. Watching their faces light up as they realized they didn't have to move chairs across the room was a moment I won't forget.\r\n\r\nThese resources have completely transformed how we handle small-group work. Just this week, we used the seating to form a \"Collaboration Circle\" for a peer-editing project. The chairs are so functional and easy to move, the students transitioned from independent work to group discussions in under a minute. This new setup allows them to sit closely with their peers, sparking much more natural conversation and teamwork than our rigid desks ever allowed. They feel less restricted, which has led to a noticeable boost in their focus and creative energy.\r\n\r\nAs we move into our next units, these chairs are going to be more essential than ever. Students will need to move between different stations and even take their learning outdoors for some fresh-air brainstorming. Thanks to the mobility of this seating, my students now have the freedom to grab their chairs and head outside or move to a quiet corner if they feel overstimulated. You haven't just given us furniture; you've given my students the freedom to choose the environment that helps them learn best.","fullyFundedDate":1758816494813,"projectUrl":"project/functional-seating-for-small-groups/9728291/","projectTitle":"Functional Seating for Small Groups","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ceja","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10269134"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_75116","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":421,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":15,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":80,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"23.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":84.7,"schoolId":75116,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Grace Hudson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Grace Hudson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/ukiah-unified-school-district/grace-hudson-elementary-school/75116"}
