The Rube Goldberg Machine Project brought so much energy and creativity to our room — when my students first saw all the marbles, pulleys, ramps, and other materials you helped provide, they could hardly wait to get started. One group built a chain reaction to pop a balloon using a marble run, dominoes, and a swinging pendulum they engineered themselves, and the room filled with cheers when their design finally worked after many attempts.\r\n\r\nThis project challenged students in new ways, and I was so proud to watch them grow in resilience. Testing and re-testing their machines often led to frustration, but it also showed them what the engineering design process truly feels like: brainstorming, building, failing, adjusting, and trying again. They learned firsthand that setbacks are part of problem-solving, and many shared that they felt proud of themselves for not giving up even when things felt stressful. Even better, many of the materials you provided will continue to be used next year, and this year's machines will serve as inspiration and examples for future students as they take on the same challenges. Thank you for giving my students this opportunity to learn, create, and grow in a way they will remember for years to come. Your support has made a significant difference in the lives of my students, especially during the challenging ELPAC testing period.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donation, we were able to provide snacks, including chips and juice pouches, for the students to enjoy between sections of the test. These small treats have had a big impact. They've not only kept the students energized but also helped create a positive and supportive environment. One of the most memorable moments was during a break when a group of students shared snacks and encouraged each other, making the testing experience feel a little less stressful. It was heartwarming to see how much the students appreciated the thoughtful gesture.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snacks, their reactions were priceless! Their eyes lit up, and there was an immediate sense of excitement and relief. Many of them expressed their gratitude, and it was clear that something as simple as a snack helped them feel cared for and supported during such an important time.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for being a part of our classroom and for making such a meaningful difference. Thanks to your donation, our 7th and 8th-grade students now have the supplies they need to fully engage with hands-on learning and make lasting memories in STEAM.\r\n\r\nThis year, our students have been tackling some exciting and challenging projects, including our bottle rockets unit. They've been diving deep into Newton's Laws of Motion—particularly the third law—and applying their knowledge to real-world scenarios. Students have been learning about the forces acting on their rockets and experimenting with the angles of their launchers to achieve the perfect trajectory. This, of course, is a work in progress as many bottle rockets have landed in trees or on top of our school's roof; nevertheless, students are learning from trial and error and having so much fun! Your contribution has made it possible for them to engineer their own bottle rockets with durable materials that will help them succeed and create lasting, meaningful experiences. I'm also excited to announce I am starting a STEAM club at my school and will continue to use these materials with them as well!\r\n\r\nIn addition to the rockets, we've been able to enhance our robotics unit with proper storage for our small LEGO pieces, making it easier for students to keep track of the components they need to build their robots. And, the incentives for STEM notebooks have added an extra layer of motivation, encouraging students to reflect on their learning and keep track of their progress.\r\n\r\nYour support is not just about providing materials—it's about inspiring our students and fueling their passion for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. This project has allowed them to explore, experiment, and most importantly, envision themselves as the future engineers, scientists, and innovators we hope they'll become.\r\n\r\nWe're so grateful for your partnership in making these experiences possible.
