I was able to put together our new bookshelf, lamps, and lights early in the semester as students were getting familiar with the classroom. They immediately noticed the new additions and were thankful!\r\n\r\nHaving the additional lamps and lights allows students to turn off the overhead lights during class time. There is enough light for students to complete their work, but it doesn't give them a headache the way overhead lights do. Students really enjoy having a choice in the lighting with some class periods preferring overhead lights but most class periods preferring the lamps. \r\n\r\nLastly, the addition of Spanish language novels has been a great resource. Our class has welcome 4 new Spanish speaking students who have less than 1 year of education in the United States. Giving them the opportunity to read novels in Spanish increases their fluency leading to bilingualism, but also makes it clear to them that reading in any language if valuable. \r\n\r\nThe positive impact of your donation cannot be understated. Thank you for helping these students have a classroom they feel safe and comfortable in. I have many students who are not in my classes who walk into the classroom and marvel at home welcoming it feels.
