With these cold mornings and the never-ending fog, the blankets have made an incredible difference for our students. Many of them choose a blanket over a jacket since the sizing is universal and, honestly, it's a bit trendy, making it not only practical but also a source of social comfort. Because many of our students walk to school, I wanted to make sure we could offer a little extra warmth as they make their way to campus. Staff have noted that students arrive wrapped up and continue using the blankets during breaks and class time. That added warmth has directly supported their ability to settle in and fully engage in learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the blankets first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Several students commented on how soft and cozy they felt, and there was an instant sense of appreciation. They understood that someone they had never met wanted them to feel cared for. That feeling has carried into our classroom culture, creating an even more welcoming and thoughtful environment where students feel supported.\r\n\r\nHaving the blankets available allows students to stay focused during long reading workshops, writing sessions, and outdoor activities without being distracted by the cold. It's also a simple reminder that they are cared for. Your generosity has done more than provide warmth. It has helped create the conditions for better concentration, participation, and confidence. We are so grateful for your support and the difference you have made in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1769448183167,"projectUrl":"project/gift-of-warmth-a-blanket-for-every-stu/9786878/","projectTitle":"Gift of Warmth - A Blanket for Every Student","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Riggs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6606671_orig.jpg?crop=2171,2171,x0,y43&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1713373541148","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/shsriggs"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_101086","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":135,"numTeachers":5,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":6,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":70,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"27.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":47.5,"schoolId":101086,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Stockton High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Stockton High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/stockton-unified-school-district/stockton-alternative-high-school/101086"}
