In middle school the students are more and more reading on on-line platforms. We have a small library in the classroom with books that my special education students are able to read independently, but not necessarily at a high level of interest for them to want to read.\r\nWe were so excited to receive the books we received in this project. The students literally grabbed out of the boxes the books that interested them the most and kept them for themselves at their desks. They made their own bookmarks as well to hold the place for the next time to read. The new books that are at the independent reading/and high interest level has had an amazing impact in my classroom. Students are looking forward to have time to read and be able to hold and turn the pages of the books. \r\nThe new books have opened up so much for those students frustrated by reading. The students are excited, inquisitive, and motivated to read. All thanks to your awesome donations.","fullyFundedDate":1729202357905,"projectUrl":"project/reading-is-power/8850712/","projectTitle":"Reading is Power!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Esquivel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9737774"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_29300","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":455,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":85,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":96,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.7,"schoolId":29300,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Richard L Graves Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Richard L Graves Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/south-whittier-school-district/richard-l-graves-middle-school/29300"}
