I wanted to take a moment to share the impact your generosity has had on our students. Thanks to your support, I've been able to create an inviting classroom library that provides a space for reading, quiet reflection, and emotional regulation during challenging moments.\r\n\r\nOur students have quickly fallen in love with many of the new books. As a class, we are especially enchanted by Mo Willems' Elephant and Piggie series and The Pigeon books. In fact, the Pigeon has become our class mascot! The first graders adore his persistence and mischievous nature, and the plushie and \"pigeon-in-a-box\" included in your donation have brought repeated moments of joy. These books also serve as excellent leveled readers for first graders, with their simple yet clever illustrations and short, decodable words that help build reading confidence.\r\n\r\nI love seeing how these books spark students' interest not just in reading, but in retelling stories, making connections, and processing symbols and meaning. Your donations are helping to foster both literacy and critical thinking skills, laying the foundation for a rich and meaningful year of learning. Even parents have noticed the change. During recent parent-teacher conferences, many shared how much more excited their children are about reading.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of our classroom, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. You have truly helped create a space where young readers can explore, imagine, and grow.","fullyFundedDate":1753584657740,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-joyful-reading-corner-for-fir/9366180/","projectTitle":"Building a Joyful Reading Corner for First Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sanford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10039190_orig.jpg?crop=172,172,x0,y28&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747635087602","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10039190"},{"teacherId":9579580,"projectId":9086646,"letterContent":"Thank you for helping our students on a journey towards loving more text-rich books. Receiving brand new copies of Charlotte's Web had raised the excitement and engagement levels through the roof. \r\n\r\nWe use the books every day. They have expanded their vocabulary to include words such as \"salutations,\" \"remarkable,\" \"delectable,\" and \"incessant,\" which in itself is incredibly impressive for second graders to use in their daily speech, even more so when they are multilingual learners!\r\n\r\nA small book has greatly impacted their love for reading in a tech-heavy world. In addition to the books, they listen to the audio read-alouds online in English and Spanish, so their families can enjoy listening to the stories at home. Such a small book has created a core memory for many families as they listen and enjoy their time together listening to a story.\r\n\r\nThank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness. Instead of having an array of mismatched, oversized furniture, our students have an outdoor learning space that fits them and that matches. This makes our space feel so much more welcoming and put together. The day that they arrived, my classroom aid and I set them up right away, working into the early afternoon, excited to surprise the kids. Coming in the next day, wide eyed, our little learners were so excited to see how different everything looked! Looking ahead, these chairs will be even more valuable in the years to come as age requirements for TK get lower and students get smaller. \r\n\r\nAnother Maria (Montessori) taught the world how important it is for a child to feel empowered in their educational space with furniture that is designed for them. and Mr. Rogers taught the world the importance of Children's Play and Exploration. By supporting our community, you teach us that people do care about children. Thank you so much for taking your time and your money to send a clear message of support to our little community. It means the world and I remember that support every time I look out at my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1734642145613,"projectUrl":"project/we-wont-stand-for-this-we-want-to-sit/8778521/","projectTitle":"We Won't Stand for This!
