It is spacious, comfortable, and every second grader has room to sit down. \r\n\r\nStudents have multiple opportunities to sit on the rug throughout the school day. In the morning, many students choose to sit on the rug to read a book or to practice writing spelling words. Students enjoy working collaboratively to solve math problems or play math games to practice the math skill of the day. The brand new rug also provides an opportunity for students to have flexible seating. This means there are times during the day where students may choose to complete their work at their desk or on the rug. Often, students will select the rug. The rug is also a place for the entire class to gather at the end of the day while we have a community meeting.\r\n\r\nThank you, thank you! The new reading nooks created by the benches have transformed our reading time; students race to claim their spot on the benches, which has led to an increase in engagement during our lessons.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next steps involve further integrating these resources into our current classroom projects. The students are working on collaborative projects that require movement and creativity, and having these new tools at their disposal has sparked their enthusiasm.
