Your generosity provided our speech room with the art supplies that have made speech and language activities this year more creative, interactive, and engaging.\r\n\r\nStudents used the glue and scissors to complete several cut-and-paste language activities. One favorite accompanied Amelia Bedelia's First Day of School and helped students explore figurative language and multiple-meaning words. This hands on activity created a visual activity that they could use to review what they learned.\r\n\r\nStudents also used the markers, crayons, and other art supplies to decorate \"About Me\" pages for their individual speech and language folders. These pages gave students a fun way to share information about themselves while practicing vocabulary, describing, answering questions, and expressing their ideas. They also helped make each student's folder feel personal and welcoming.\r\n\r\nThe laminating pouches and related supplies allowed me to create durable flashcards and interactive books for our therapy sessions. These reusable materials provide hands-on practice and can be adapted to support students across grade levels and with a variety of communication needs. We also have been able to use the supplies to create low-tech AAC communication for our nonspeaking students. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping make our speech room a place where students can cut, draw, create, and learn while strengthening their communication skills.
