Just three weeks into the school year, I've already seen an incredible difference in how my students approach reading.\r\n\r\nLast year, students often complained that they didn't have books at their level, and many ended up reading the same English books over and over again. This year, because of you, every child has something new and exciting to read during quiet reading time — in Spanish. Instead of defaulting to English, they are now pushing themselves to read in Spanish with enthusiasm and confidence. Parents have even shared how grateful they are that their children can enjoy real books in Spanish, rather than relying on online reading.\r\n\r\nThese books have also enriched our read-aloud time. I now have a strong selection that keeps my students entertained, engaged, and building their skills without even realizing how much they are learning. Your support has made reading in Spanish not just possible, but joyful. Thank you for giving this pioneering group of students the opportunity to fall in love with reading in their target language right from the start.","fullyFundedDate":1746786529237,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-build-a-spanish-library-from-scr/9258610/","projectTitle":"Help Us Build a Spanish Library from Scratch","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tolan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9640263"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_40096","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":355,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":47,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":43,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"22.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":91.3,"schoolId":40096,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Soquel Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Soquel Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/soquel-union-elementary-school-district/soquel-elementary-school/40096"}
