The new bow and arrow and lacrosse equipment have already become treasured additions to our classes.\r\nWhen our 6th graders first saw the archery sets, the room erupted in cheers. They immediately began learning the foundational stances of focus, patience, and safety — qualities that archery so beautifully cultivates. One moment that stood out was when a student, after several careful attempts, released an arrow that landed perfectly in the target's center. The entire class cheered, not just for the shot, but for the calm determination it took to achieve it.\r\nOur 7th graders were equally thrilled to learn they'll be taking on the sport of lacrosse — a dynamic, fast-paced game that blends teamwork, coordination, and courage. Their first question was, \"When do we get to play?\" We'll soon be introducing passing and cradling drills, preparing them for small-sided games that emphasize both cooperation and strategy.\r\nThese new materials have already inspired a deeper sense of engagement, pride, and joy in our students. They can't wait to continue exploring these new skills and share their progress with our school community.\r\nWith heartfelt thanks for helping us gear up for greatness!","fullyFundedDate":1758063867178,"projectUrl":"project/two-sports-one-mission-resilience-res/9636143/","projectTitle":"Two Sports, One Mission: Resilience, Respect and Focus for Life","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rachel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10210667_orig.jpg?crop=225,225,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755751116106","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10210667"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30691","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":217,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":38,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":52,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.8,"schoolId":30691,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Woodland Star Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Woodland Star Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/sonoma-valley-unified-school-district/woodland-star-charter-school/30691"}
