The watercolor paper, markers, washi tape, construction paper, Colors of the World crayons, and many other high-quality art supplies are being used daily to help students express their thinking through both art and writing.\r\n\r\nOne especially meaningful project took place during our *Welcoming and Affirming Communities* unit, when students created self-portraits. Having access to many skin-tone crayons allowed students to make thoughtful choices that truly reflected themselves. Students took great pride in their work, and this activity opened the door to rich conversations about identity, belonging, and celebrating who we are.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were immediately excited and eager to explore them. They noticed the wide variety of colors and tools and couldn't wait to begin creating. For some students, art is where they truly shine, and these projects have been their highest point of engagement. As students worked, I heard them talking about the content, explaining their ideas, and using new vocabulary — all while drawing and creating.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through our SEAL units, these supplies support many ongoing projects. Students use markers to create their own Venn diagrams, where they draw and write about how life in the past is the same and different from life today. Construction paper is used to create *Academic Process Journals* for each unit. In these journals, students respond to read-alouds, draw-and-label activities, science explorations, and record their thinking throughout the unit. At the end of each unit, students take their journals home to share their learning and ideas with their families, helping extend classroom conversations beyond school.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has provided my students with tools that support creativity, engagement, and meaningful learning. Because of your support, our classroom has been enriched with new books for our library and meaningful prize incentives that are already making a powerful difference in our daily learning environment. Your donation is more than materials on a shelf, it is an investment in confidence, curiosity, and growth.\r\n\r\nThe new books in our classroom library have given students access to fresh, high-interest, and diverse texts that truly meet them where they are as readers. Many of my students are at very different reading levels, and having a wide range of engaging options allows each child to find books that feel both accessible and exciting. These books are used every day during independent reading time, small-group instruction, and literature exploration. Students are strengthening comprehension, expanding vocabulary, and building reading stamina, but just as importantly, they are discovering the joy of reading. I now see students eagerly recommending books to one another, choosing reading over free time activities, and taking pride in finishing books they once felt were out of reach.\r\n\r\nThe prize incentives you helped provide play an equally important role in our classroom. They support our positive behavior system, where students earn tickets for demonstrating responsibility, cooperation, perseverance, and effort. These tickets are entered into weekly raffle drawings, and the excitement they generate is incredible. More importantly, the system reinforces the idea that positive choices matter. Students are learning that their actions, how they treat others, how they approach challenges, and how they take ownership of their learning, have value. Over time, this has helped students build maturity, self-confidence, and a stronger sense of responsibility within our classroom community.\r\n\r\nTogether, the books and incentives have helped create a classroom environment where students feel supported, motivated, and inspired. My goal is to prepare students not only academically, but also socially and emotionally as they grow into thoughtful, capable learners. Your generosity has helped make that possible. The impact of your donation is felt every single day, in the quiet moments when a student gets lost in a book, in the proud smiles when positive behavior is recognized, and in the overall sense of belonging that now fills our room.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and in the importance of nurturing both their love of learning and their character. Because of you, my students now have access to materials that truly enrich their daily learning experiences and help create a classroom environment where every child feels supported, capable, and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nYour donations provided a wide variety of new books for our classroom library, which are already being used every single day. I teach a wonderfully heterogeneous group of students, and having a diverse, high-interest library allows me to meet learners where they are. Some students are just beginning to find confidence in reading, while others are eager to challenge themselves with more complex texts. The books you provided give them choice, ownership, and the opportunity to see themselves reflected in stories while also learning about others. I see students reaching for these books during independent reading, partner work, and even during free moments throughout the day. They are talking about characters, recommending titles to one another, and discovering a genuine love for reading. That alone is an incredible gift.\r\n\r\nIn addition to books, your project supplied art materials such as colored pencils, as well as practical classroom necessities like binders, pencil lead, and Kleenex. These items may seem simple, but they are essential. They support everything we do, from organizing learning to expressing creativity to simply getting through the day comfortably. These are also the kinds of supplies that quickly exceed the limited funds available for classrooms. When budgets are tight and basic needs are high, it becomes extremely difficult to provide all students with consistent access to these tools.\r\n\r\nMany families in our community are facing the rising cost of living, and purchasing school supplies is not always easy or even possible. Because of you, students do not have to worry about whether they have what they need to participate fully. They can focus on learning, creating, collaborating, and growing. Your generosity helps remove barriers and ensures that all students can walk into our classroom each day with dignity and opportunity.\r\n\r\nI truly could not offer my students what I can provide now without the DonorsChoose community. You have helped transform our classroom into a space filled with engaging books, essential materials, and the message that people beyond our school believe in them and care about their success. That message is powerful.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, thank you for investing in our classroom, in public education, and in the potential of every child who walks through our door.
