I created three projects for three Chompsaws so my fellow colleagues and STEAM Club (EXCEL) advisors and I could place one ChompSaw in each of our afterschool workspaces and classrooms. Thank you for your patience as we incorporated the ChompSaws into our classrooms and program. Throughout the school year, students and club members used the ChompSaw to cut intricate pieces of cardboard for cardboard arcade games that were used at a Volunteer Appreciation school event, animal research project dioramas, fictional landmark/landform models, and open play and creativity times. (Which the kids REALLY loved!) \r\n\r\nThe ChompSaw has been a phenomenal tool in helping our kids build, create, imagine, and bring their unique ideas to life. In fact, it became such a staple tool in our STEAM program that kids were using it independently and it was difficult to capture pictures of students using it. They became very quick and efficient ChompSaw designers.\r\n\r\nAnother interesting observation and positive effect was that my third grade students became especially intrigued with the ChompSaw in our classroom. Kids waited in line to use it, but didn't always have a finished product in the end. They loved the action of cutting the cardboard and creating designs with the saw. They would then let others use it and get right back in line, again, mostly without creating any sort of finished product. It was almost as if the cutting action of the Chompsaw was soothing or entertaining in itself. It was interesting to witness. Regardless, my students LOVE any time the ChompSaw is out, finished product or not, and our EXCEL Club students use it regularly for finer, more detailed cuts and designs. It's been a really wonderful addition to our classrooms and afterschool STEAM Club. THANK YOU SO MUCH!\r\n\r\nI am including additional appreciation from my colleagues, each of which have a ChompSaw in their classroom and STEAM Club spaces as well.\r\n\r\nDear Donors, \r\nThank you so much for your donations towards the ChompSaws for our program. In our afterschool program our students work on many different building challenges. They are excited to be able to use tools themselves, and we are excited to know that they can do what they want safely and independently.\r\n\r\nAmong many uses, the ChompSaw was successfully used by a student who wanted to build fairly intricate flowers out of cardboard to decorate the cardboard arcade game she was building. Another pair of students used it to cut and fit together tracks for a ball to roll through for their arcade game and for cutting holes in the middle of a sheet of cardboard. \r\n\r\nIn addition, my third grade students used the ChompSaw to cut out cardboard animals for dioramas to go with animal reports they had written. I, myself, also used the ChompSaw to create a model diorama. \r\n\r\nThe ChompSaw is a great, kid-safe tool to add to our STEAM program and also for the creative, adventurous students in our classrooms. \r\n\r\nThank you for your support!! \r\nAmy McConnell\r\n\r\nDear Donors,\r\nThank you for the fantastic addition to our EXCEL Club! The students found the ChompSaw incredibly useful when constructing their team signs and intricate components that required specific shapes. The tool allowed students to cut precise pieces much more safely than using a handsaw or scissors, which often leave behind frayed strips and scraps. I had never come across this tool before Melanie Premo introduced it to our club. Thank you for this generous donation that will benefit both our current and future students. \r\nWyndsor Belcher\r\n\r\nThank you so much, again! It has been such a surprising resource. There are so many treasures in the set that I didn't expect, including instant STEM challenges. I LOVE this resource! THANK YOU!
