The books you funded have significantly enriched our independent reading time by introducing a wider range of diverse voices, cultures, and perspectives. Many of my students rarely see themselves reflected in literature, and others have limited access to books that expand their understanding of the world. These new titles have immediately strengthened our library and created more opportunities for students to find books that genuinely resonate with them.\r\n\r\nWhen the shipment arrived, students' excitement was unmistakable. They gathered around the boxes, eagerly pulling out books, reading summaries, and trading recommendations with one another. Several asked to check out their selections before I even had time to label them. Their enthusiasm has translated into longer engagement during independent reading and more frequent conversations about what they're discovering in their books. The sense of ownership and pride these new materials have sparked has been remarkable.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these books will remain at the heart of our independent reading routine. Students will continue choosing titles that reflect their interests and identities, helping them develop stronger reading habits and deeper connections to literature. Your generosity has made it possible for students to explore stories that affirm who they are while introducing them to perspectives they may not otherwise encounter. Thank you for investing in my students' joy, curiosity, and growth as readers.","fullyFundedDate":1721399011684,"projectUrl":"project/liven-up-our-library-with-diverse-voices/8331197/","projectTitle":"Liven Up Our Library With Diverse Voices!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Duffy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp6009510_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1540503318308","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-duffy-sailors"},{"teacherId":6009510,"projectId":9876145,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredibly generous contributions to my Donors Choose project. Your support has made an immediate and meaningful difference in my classroom. Snacks may seem like a small thing, but for many of my students they make a world of difference providing comfort, energy, and a sense of being cared for. One of the most popular items has been the jerky. Because jerky is so expensive, it's not something most students get very often, so when they saw all the Slim Jim and Jack Link's packs, their faces absolutely lit up!\r\n\r\nYour kindness has created a positive ripple effect throughout our classroom community. Students are more focused and motivated, and they know that people beyond our school walls believe in them and their success.
