Thanks to your generous donation of robotics kits, expansion packs, curriculum materials, and a competition mat, our students are getting the opportunity to enrich their educational experience. They are super excited for the opportunity to learn more about engineering and robotics.\r\n\r\nWe've just had our first FLEX session where we invited to our students to start exploring engineering and coding we had them learn how to make slider cranks and four bar linkages. Next month we will begin exploring how to increase torque or speed using simple and compound gear ratios\r\n\r\nMany students had never seen legos used this way before and immediately jumped into experimenting and programming. I think it was empowering for them to build something that they were able to later bring to life through simple programs. It's a great start and helped to demystify programming.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping make this possible!","fullyFundedDate":1749144745086,"projectUrl":"project/rewarding-robotics-broadening-participa/9218366/","projectTitle":"Rewarding Robotics: Broadening Participation and Celebrating Excellence","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Relator","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1829461_orig.png?crop=993,994,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1620269337780","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1829461"},{"teacherId":9519776,"projectId":9109367,"letterContent":"Thank you all so much for your generosity in funding these awesome whiteboards. They are very popular and appreciated by students. With the funds provided, I was able to purchase a wide variety of quiet fidgets that appeal to different students. They cut down on noises such as pencils tapping, etc.\r\n\r\nThe funds for the student snacks have also been really helpful. A number of my students show up to class hungry for a variety of reasons and it has helped them academically to be able to have a quick snack prior to class. \r\n\r\nThank you for making these purchases possible!","fullyFundedDate":1734845680932,"projectUrl":"project/sel-tools-for-developing-high-school-rea/8908602/","projectTitle":"SEL Tools for Developing High School Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hoffman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9819103"},{"teacherId":9825817,"projectId":8919419,"letterContent":"I want to thank you for supporting my students in the Transgender Student Union by allowing them to express themselves through art. My students are very appreciative and grateful for the materials and treat them with care. The day after we received all of the materials, the student leaders organized multiple art therapy events for students across the school to come together and create whatever are they could with the materials available. So far, TSU has had 3 events, one of which was a \"punny poster\" day where students used puns to create funny and welcoming art. One of my favorites was a student who created the \" Bee yourself\" poster. \r\n\r\nThe art that students are creating in TSU is hung up all around the school to advertise the Transgender Student Union and to promote inclusivity and unity amongst the student body. My students are continuing to create art as a form of therapy but to also promote community and understanding. They would not have been able to do so without your contributions.","fullyFundedDate":1730924046660,"projectUrl":"project/transgender-student-union-art-therapy/8919419/","projectTitle":"Transgender Student Union Art Therapy","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Prakash","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9825817"},{"teacherId":9841699,"projectId":8951070,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to my project for a calm corner in my classroom. The students were so excited when they saw an entire table full of bouncy ball chairs. Because I usually work with only a small group of students, some of them run into the classroom and quickly snag up the balls. It helps them to be able to move around and be in a different setting than their typical math class. \r\n\r\nBecause I usually work with the most struggling students in Algebra 1, a good relationship with them is very important. I want them to enjoy coming to my room for extra help, and now some of them even come to my room to eat lunch. They like sitting on the couch and bean bag chairs just to chill out. They also like to draw fun pictures on the whiteboards, and the new markers and erasers are adding to their creativity. \r\n\r\nWe are gearing up for a hard unit in Algebra 1 - Quadratics.
