With the funds I was able to purchase everything we needed to complete 4 printmaking projects: collagraphs, eraser pattern making, block prints, and the star of the show: a drypoint etching final!\r\n\r\nMost of my students had never done any type of etching or printmaking before, and it was truly amazing to see the kids work hard at the etching process (using a sharp scribe tool to gently scratch into the surface of a clear plastic plate), and pull gorgeous prints from them.\r\n\r\nWe studied the work of Dadaists and Surrealists, and the students took a close-up photo of their eye, printed it out, then drew a \"surreal element\" in and around the eye. The works were so personal and poignant.
