Students are excited to come to the carpet and are working well with turn taking and helping to ensure everyone has a turn. \r\nWe have colored rows on the carpet, so we use the scoop chairs by color row. When we have had one turn at the carpet IE: Morning Meeting, whole group lesson, etc the scoop chairs are moved to the next row. Students are even helping with shifting the chairs so we're ready ahead of time for our next visit to the carpet. \r\nIf students are not in the scoop chairs they have free access to our new cushions. The colors are bright and inviting. They enjoy picking different colors and help pass them out to one another. \r\nThe new seating have been very helpful for some of our neurodivergent friends offering them more sensory input while seated at the carpet. They enjoy the rocking motion and get some wonderful sensory stimulus from the scoop chairs, allowing them to focus their minds better. \r\nThank you very much for this opportunity to provide flexible seating to some of our littlest learners!","fullyFundedDate":1736447247711,"projectUrl":"project/alternative-seating-to-help-engage-activ/8983280/","projectTitle":"Alternative Seating to Help Engage Active 4-year-olds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. S","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8239971_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y84&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722551894991","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8239971"},{"teacherId":8239971,"projectId":8540839,"letterContent":"Your very generous donations have allowed students to have a calmer space to enter each morning as well as a place to create!\r\nWe are so grateful for your generosity to provide students with a space that has muted lighting with a touch of whimsy. Our cloud light covers have really transformed our space. There is added serenity into our usually slightly chaotic day, being a room full of 4-5 year olds. Our Peace Corner was spruced up with a new pillow that has given some of our less verbal students a chance to point out their feelings to describe them to staff members. Thus allowing us to help them work through their emotions more efficiently, with less guessing. Our neurodivergent and neurotypical students alike have been enjoying the textured wall sections as well. \r\nOur Maker's Space has been a blast. Last week we did a project where we \"adopted\" plastic frogs and made houses for them out of scrap pieces of paper and used the masking tape that was donated. They were able to practice using materials, using the masking tape dispenser, and all with their big imaginations. How fun! \r\nThank you again for your generosity toward our classroom and helping us create a better environment for our amazing students.","fullyFundedDate":1732133007693,"projectUrl":"project/creative-minds-need-creative-outlets-/8540839/","projectTitle":"Creative Minds Need Creative Outlets - Makers' Space and Calming Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. S","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8239971_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y84&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722551894991","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8239971"},{"teacherId":785818,"projectId":8692488,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to our class project. The wobble chair has been a huge hit! So far we are taking turns having one student try it per day. Once everyone has had a chance, it will be used to help the most wiggly students. \r\n\r\nMy next step will be using the liquid motion bubbler to help calm students who are experiencing big emotions and to teach them breathing techniques to use at the same time. \r\n\r\nAs more materials arrive, I know my students will be so excited to try them.
