It has become a staple offering and the kids love it. The past few years we have ended the unit with a three-day crash course on Tinikling (from the Philippines.) The students get great exercise and demonstrate their tremendous social skills while working as a team to accomplish the task. I've always believed that my 7th graders become more \"polished\" and well-rounded when they participate in activities that are new to them, especially when that activity is from a different culture.
