The ability to move around the room, build, collaborate, and manipulate the shapes around them has had a huge impact on the way that the students approach the world. Being in 1st grade means that many of the concepts introduced in school are new and exciting and are best conceptualized in a hands on environment. These building tools allow for a greater understanding of the way that objects interact in the world. These tools also mean that the students get to work together and learn together, creating a stronger bond of understanding and collaboration in our classroom. All of these tools combined mean that each student has the best chance of understanding the great concepts of shapes in our own environment!","fullyFundedDate":1758636440601,"projectUrl":"project/moving-to-learn/9697652/","projectTitle":"Moving to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Freeburn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10248279"},{"teacherId":5887930,"projectId":9801093,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom project to purchase new headphones. Your gift has made a real difference for students every day. Because of the headphones, lessons sound clearer, listening activities feel easier to follow, and students can focus on words and phrases without being distracted by background noise.\r\n\r\nWhen audio is clear, students can hear each sound and syllable. That makes a big difference for pronunciation and comprehension during reading and listening activities. Many learners now repeat challenging vocabulary right after they hear it, which helps their mouths and ears learn the new sounds together. Repeating words aloud strengthens memory, so students are more likely to remember higher‑order vocabulary and use it in their speaking and writing.\r\n\r\nOne feature students love is the ability to listen and immediately repeat words. This lets them practice on their own, at their own pace. They enjoy tracking small improvements—how one day a phrase sounds smoother, or a long word is easier to say. Independent practice builds confidence: students who once hesitated to speak now volunteer answers more often because they trust what they hear and how they sound.\r\n\r\nStudents who speak a second language have benefited the most. Reliable headphones block out distractions and let these learners focus on the subtle differences in pronunciation and intonation. That focused listening helps them pick up new vocabulary faster and use it correctly in class. As their vocabulary grows, so does their confidence to participate in group discussions and reading activities.\r\n\r\nWe will soon take a progress monitoring assessment where students can show how much they have learned using this technology. The assessment will let students demonstrate improvements in listening, pronunciation, and vocabulary use. For many, the headphones have already shortened the time it takes to learn and apply new words—now they can show that progress with measurable results.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom is quieter, more focused, and more inclusive. Students are participating more, practicing more, and feeling proud of their improvement. Thank you for helping create a learning space where every student can hear clearly, practice confidently, and succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1760894119947,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-students-with-audio-technolog/9801093/","projectTitle":"Supporting Students with Audio Technology in Online Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Louch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5887930"},{"teacherId":9449784,"projectId":9493827,"letterContent":"I wanted to wait to say thank you again until I had a chance to get to use some of the supplies with my students. And I am glad that I did. Now I can say with confidence how wonderful it is to have the resources we need to explore (and make a mess) in our art class. \r\nWe have all gotten our hands on paint now, thanks to your donations. I was able to do a tree painting project with nearly every student in my school. They were so excited! I gave them a small tray with primary colors on it (as well as black and white for my older students to have the added option of using blending skills). We talked about colors and they all got to explore how to mix the colors they wanted. It was so much fun to hear them from all over the room \"Look at this orange I made!\" \"I figured out how to make pink!\" \"I only needed a tiny bit of red!\" Every color they mixed felt like magic. And how those painting are lining the walls of our art classroom. \r\nSo thank you again.
