Because of your support, my students were able to experience this novel together as a whole class, creating a shared reading journey that was both meaningful and engaging.\r\n\r\nAs we read the story, we connected it to our character development unit and completed a deep analysis of Roz. Students explored her character traits, motivations, and actions, examining both her internal thoughts and external behaviors. This allowed them to develop a strong understanding of how characters grow and change over time.\r\n\r\nTo extend their learning, students created and presented projects that showcased their understanding of Roz's character. They were excited to share their ideas and demonstrate their thinking in creative ways. We also had the opportunity to watch the film adaptation, which allowed us to compare and contrast the novel with the movie. This sparked thoughtful discussions and helped students think critically about storytelling across different formats.\r\n\r\nYour donation provided us with so many valuable learning opportunities. Most importantly, my students truly enjoyed the book and were deeply engaged throughout the entire unit.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this experience possible and for supporting our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1767129770560,"projectUrl":"project/our-reading-adventure-the-wild-robot/9690731/","projectTitle":"Our Reading Adventure: The Wild Robot","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lainez-Valencia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7930321_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1627604776548","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7930321"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32907","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":710,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":37,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":23,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"25.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.0,"schoolId":32907,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Howe Avenue Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Howe Avenue Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/san-juan-unified-school-district/howe-avenue-elementary-school/32907"}
