These additions have truly transformed our students' learning experience.\r\nWith the new wheels, students now have greater access to hands-on practice, allowing them to develop their skills more thoroughly and confidently. The increased availability means less waiting time, so each student can spend more time experimenting and refining their techniques. This has sparked a noticeable boost in creativity and enthusiasm throughout the class.\r\nMoreover, the new equipment has enabled us to introduce more advanced projects and explore a wider range of ceramic techniques. Our students are producing more intricate and polished work, which is a testament to the positive influence of these resources on their artistic growth.\r\nWe are deeply grateful for this generous support, which has enriched our program and inspired our students to reach new heights in their craft.\r\nThank you for helping us nurture the next generation of ceramic artists.","fullyFundedDate":1747352339383,"projectUrl":"project/new-potters-wheels-the-backbone-of-the/9290882/","projectTitle":"New Potter's Wheels: The Backbone of the Ceramics Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Bill","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10007628_orig.jpg?crop=2497,2497,x0,y83&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745863635285","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10007628"},{"teacherId":8422799,"projectId":9586655,"letterContent":"I want to thank everyone who contributed to this project. The overwhelming support from my community and from my friends has been truly heartwarming. \r\n\r\nMy school, as well as many of the students in Sacramento, are coming from families that are having an increasingly difficult time surviving. In the past, when I asked my students to come to school with a scientific calculator, this was not financially difficult. A scientific calculator runs about $10-$15. But now, asking a student to provide a device, that they technically already posses is financially difficult. \r\n\r\nBy providing these calculators to my students, I will be able to have them work on math related to chemistry without the need to have their phones to distract them! I've been teaching for 26 years, and I've never seen so many students with focus and mental health issues. The one thing I know is that smart phones are not making our students smarter.\r\n\r\nEach day my students come into class and put their phones in a rack that I lock up during class. Now that I have a class set of calculators, my students have no reason to use their phones during class. I was constantly scrambling to catch up to the many needs of my students, whom I taught at the end of their school day. This means that there just wasn't a lot of room for trial and error, but that I had to be extra vigilant and prepared. \r\n\r\nWhen the two boxes of large drawing paper arrived, I was elated. I no longer had to economize, streamline, or cut out activities I'd hoped to teach. Instead, we went all out, made large projects, and learned a great deal more that scale has to offer to art students. You obviously get it, that teachers can't do their jobs without community support. For the end of last school year, and now the beginning of this school year, I've been able to allow more natural light flow into the classroom helping students feel more awake and engaged, and they can still adequately see the lesson slides I'm projecting on the screen. I have less students complaining that they need to move seats because they can't see the screen. It's lower position also makes it easier for me to interact and point at things more clearly. Being able to replace my projector means that I don't need a desk in the middle of my room with a stack of random books propping the projector up enough to fit the screen in my room. This has allowed me to free up space for desks to be better arranged for students and myself to move around the room. I promise that your generous donation has not gone to waste or underappreciated!
