The use of colors while taking notes is an integral part of our learning process. When students are absent, they obvious miss out on the opportunity to annotate the notes and work through examples together, however with the ability to print a copy of my notes in color for those students is a game changer.\r\n Color coding notes helps improve memory ad recall, assists with organization, support pattern recognition, and overall increases engagement and focus. For my absent students, receiving copies of the class notes in color upon their return allows them to engage in active learning even though they were not present for the lesson. They get to use the highlights to identify important information and the color coding to help them organize the material to clearly see steps, where numbers get plugged in, and the overall structure of the problem. As you can see from one of the images I posted, I scan my notes taken on white paper in color and then print those exact notes for the students who were not present. The difference between the color copy and the black/white copy is huge. When I used to hand the black and white copies over, the students immediately felt overwhelmed with the amount of information on the page. The color copy encourages them to identify what was taught and try to match similar problems from the notes with problems from the homework. It puts the pawer of learning back in to the hands of the students.\r\n When we received our printer, the students were so excited. Several of them asked me to reprint notes from the current chapter so they could have the color copies. Having the color printer has been most impactful for our at risk youth. The student who are frequently absent, those that receive services on campus that pull them out of their classes (such as counseling, speech therapy, etc.), and our students with IEPs. With the color printer we are able to provide our students with IEPs not only additional notes to support their learning but with the use of color, they can rely heavily on looking for the patterns as you can see with the quadrilateral properties flow chart picture.\r\n We really can not thank you enough. It may seem like a small act of kindness on your part, but the impact on the education of the students in my classroom is immeasurable.","fullyFundedDate":1769107825855,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-color-into-the-classroom/9997850/","projectTitle":"Bringing Color Into the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harden","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5123592_orig.jpg?crop=1073,1073,x0,y332&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1633123192752","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/krista-harden"},{"teacherId":9734951,"projectId":9380441,"letterContent":"Classroom donations can greatly enhance the learning environment by providing teachers and students with essential resources that may not be covered by school budgets. Supplies such as books, art materials, science kits, and technology tools help create more engaging and hands-on learning experiences. These resources can support a wider range of learning styles and make lessons more interactive and enjoyable, ultimately improving student understanding and academic performance.\r\n\r\nIn addition to educational benefits, classroom donations also relieve financial pressure on teachers, many of whom spend their own money to supply their classrooms. When community members, parents, or organizations contribute, it fosters a sense of shared responsibility and support for education. This not only boosts teacher morale but also strengthens the relationship between schools and their communities, creating a more connected and caring learning environment for students.","fullyFundedDate":1748366801326,"projectUrl":"project/new-school-year/9380441/","projectTitle":"New School Year","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Christine","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/misschristine78"},{"teacherId":9734951,"projectId":9111271,"letterContent":"Stress-relieving toys can have a significant positive impact on students by helping them manage anxiety, increase focus, and improve overall emotional well-being. Tools like fidget spinners, stress balls, putty, or textured objects provide sensory stimulation that can help students stay calm and grounded, especially during high-pressure moments such as exams or public speaking. By offering a non-disruptive outlet for nervous energy, these toys can reduce distractions and allow students to channel their stress in a manageable way.\r\n\r\nMoreover, stress-relief toys support better concentration and cognitive performance, particularly for students who struggle with attention-related challenges such as ADHD or anxiety disorders. When used appropriately, they can promote mindfulness, regulate emotions, and create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment. While not a cure-all, these simple tools can be an effective part of a broader strategy to support student mental health and enhance classroom engagement.","fullyFundedDate":1745954538603,"projectUrl":"project/squishies-for-students/9111271/","projectTitle":"Squishies for Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Christine","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/misschristine78"},{"teacherId":9278023,"projectId":8691320,"letterContent":"THANK YOU for your generous donation towards the school library.
