Because of your generosity, we were also able to offer snacks at all of our larger student meetings this semester, something we would have not been able to do on our own.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the snacks, their reactions were immediate and heartfelt. The UV light sanitizer was not available so we got soy pens have invisible ink and the ink of four primary colors. We also got Stich plush toys that weigh 3lbs so students can hold these plush toys during calming breaks. The STEM germ detection kit arrived and we did our lesson on how germs are spread. Students were very engaged and were excited to use the UV light in the kit to see the germ power glow. They took their notes with the spy pens and it was so exciting to see them shine the UV light to read their notes and their partners notes too. Whey they washed their hands and saw germs glowing under their nails and between their fingers they were surprised. This lesson helped them learn the importance of washing their hands well. Students also learned how heat kills germs. It was a really fun and productive lesson! \r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students these materials. Instead we got materials for our class that included several plastic bins to organize our science materials, a plush toy of Stich that weighs 3lbs so students can hold it during calming breaks, a mouse and mouse pad. We did get the germ STEM kit and students loved the lesson on germ transmission. They washed their hands and could not believe their fingernails showed germs with the UV light in the kit. This lesson was wonderful. I think they learned that it's very important to wash their hands often and really scrub in the nail area and between their fingers. They were all so excited to shine the UV light to see the germ powder glowing. Thank you for giving us these materials. \r\n\r\nWe are so happy!
