Before, students would frequently lose valuable class time hunting for a charger or trying to work on a phone with 3% battery left. Now, with chargers readily available in our classroom, students can stay focused and fully participate without the stress of dead batteries.\r\n\r\nThank you for understanding that sometimes, the most impactful changes come from meeting everyday needs. Your support has brought hands-on biotechnology into our classroom, transforming the way my students engage with genetics. We recently started our DNA unit by extracting DNA from strawberries, and the excitement in the room was contagious as students realized they could actually see and touch genetic material. Now, as we move into our gel electrophoresis lab, they're eager to take their learning even further by analyzing DNA samples just like real scientists.\r\n\r\nThe addition of the gel electrophoresis machine has made this experience truly immersive. Instead of just reading about DNA fragments and inheritance patterns, my students get to run their own DNA samples, watch them separate in real-time, and understand how this technology is used in forensics, medical research, and genetic testing. Seeing the look on their faces when they first saw the equipment—half excitement, half curiosity—was priceless. They couldn't wait to get started!\r\n\r\nThis project has deepened their understanding of genetics, mitosis, meiosis, human inheritance, and pedigrees through a hands-on, inquiry-based approach. As we continue with this unit, students will use the gel results to analyze genetic similarities, discuss real-world applications, and reflect on how scientists use this technology in labs around the world. Thanks to you, they aren't just learning about science—they're doing science. Your generosity has had a profound impact on their learning experience, providing them with invaluable tools that have enhanced their education in ways I could only hope for before.\r\nThanks to your donations, I was able to acquire 10 TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculators with a charging station, completing my class set so that I now have 30 total calculators—one for every student. These calculators have been instrumental in all of my classes, but they have been most utilized in my AP Statistics class and my Integrated Math 3 class.\r\nThe technology you helped fund has transformed the way my students engage with their lessons. Many of them are hands-on learners, and having access to these calculators has allowed them to interact with the material in a way that is both meaningful and engaging. In AP Statistics, we have been working with running statistical inference procedures and calculating confidence intervals. Students have also enjoyed running simulations by utilizing the random number generator, which has made abstract concepts more tangible and easier to grasp.\r\nOne of the most exciting aspects of these new calculators is how they have fostered curiosity and creativity among my students. I have seen their enthusiasm grow as they eagerly dive into assignments, experimenting with different approaches and exploring new ways to solve problems. It has turned traditional learning into an interactive experience, keeping them motivated and eager to participate in class discussions and activities.\r\nOne student in particular, Alex, has truly flourished with the use of this technology. Before, he often struggled to stay engaged in traditional lessons, but now, with interactive tools at his fingertips, he is actively participating and showing a newfound confidence in his abilities. Seeing his excitement and willingness to learn has been one of the most rewarding aspects of this project.\r\nYour generosity has not only provided my students with access to invaluable resources but has also ignited a passion for learning that will stay with them far beyond the classroom. Thank you for believing in my students and supporting their education. Your kindness and generosity are making a real difference in their lives. We were so blessed to know that many of our BrainworX Alumni students made this a reality!","fullyFundedDate":1733547480203,"projectUrl":"project/graphing-calculators-to-make-math-meanin/8587360/","projectTitle":"Graphing Calculators to Make Math Meaningful","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Brigham","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9634112"},{"teacherId":9690473,"projectId":8682412,"letterContent":"On behalf of my Junior English class, I express sincere thanks for your generous contributions to our Operation: Gatsby Replacement! Thanks to your kindness, we now have a complete class set of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This incredible gift will open the door to a transformative literary journey for my students.\r\n\r\nYour support means more than just providing books; it is enabling us to dive deeply into the world of the 1920s—a period of glamour, ambition, and complexity that continues to resonate today. With this novel, my students will explore timeless themes such as the American Dream, social stratification, and the pursuit of self-identity. Your generosity has made it possible for every student to have their own copy, ensuring an inclusive and immersive learning experience for all.\r\n\r\nBeyond reading and analyzing the text, we are excited to bring the Roaring Twenties to life through a special class event—a Gatsby Party! This will be an opportunity for the students to embody the characters, engage in meaningful discussions, and creatively connect with the cultural and historical context of the novel. I can already see the excitement building as we plan for this unique celebration of literature and history.\r\n\r\nYour investment in our students' education is an investment in their growth as critical thinkers, empathetic individuals, and lifelong learners. Please know that your contributions have a profound and lasting impact, and we are truly grateful for your support.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity and belief in the power of education and storytelling.
